Education and Primary Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has announced that all compulsory and common subjects under the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards will be examined using a unified question paper from next year, aligning them with the general education boards for reducing disparities in the education system.

He made the announcement in a meeting with centre secretaries of four education boards ahead of the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations at Azimpur Girls' School and College auditorium in the capital on Wednesday.

The education minister said there is no logical basis for conducting examinations under different question papers when the country a common curriculum.

"We have already brought the nine general education boards under a single question paper system this year. From next year, common subjects such as Bangla and English under the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards will also be examined simultaneously using unified question papers," he said.

Referring to the challenges of implementing the unified question paper system in this year's HSC examinations, Milon instructed officials to ensure flawless distribution of question papers according to designated codes.

The minister also criticised the unplanned establishment of educational institutions during previous administrations, alleging that many schools and madrasas were set up without proper regulations, infrastructure or quality assurance measures.

He said a high-level committee has already been formed to coordinate between Ebtedayee and primary schools and bring unregulated educational institutions under a structured regulatory framework.
