Pabna District Administration felicitates National Champions in Primary School Football

PABNA, June 25: The Pabna District Administration on Thursday felicitated the football team of Jorgachha United Government Primary School in Santhia Upazila for becoming national champions in the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament for the second consecutive year.

The felicitation programme was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Pabna on Thursday morning.

Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam presided over the programme. Among others present were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Moniruzzaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner Umme Tabassum, Additional Superintendent of Police Pranab Saha, District Sports Officer Md Tariqul Islam, Member Secretary of the District Sports Association Masud Rana, Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar, representatives of political parties, and members of the electronic and print media.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the players and encouraged them to continue their success in sports. The team members were later formally felicitated.

On the occasion, the district administration handed over a cheque for Tk 1 lakh to the champion team. The District Sports Association also assured the team of providing 10 footballs and new sports uniforms for the players.

It may be mentioned that Jorgachha United Government Primary School won the national title for the second consecutive time by defeating Nandail Achargaon Government Primary School of Nandail Upazila in Mymensingh Division by 4-2 goals in the final of the National Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament (Boys and Girls) 2026, held on June 20.
