Dhaka-Sylhet highway blocked over Sarail youth murder

Protesters blocked Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Sarail upazila of the district on Sunday due to the demand of arrest and trial of the accused in teengaeer Jihad Mia murder case.

Several hundred locals blocked the highway at the Kuttapara intersection area. The blockade started on 9:30AM on Sunday.

According to the locals, miscreants hacked teenager Jihad Mia, 15, to death in Kuttapara village on Friday (July 10). Although a murder case was filed over the incident, police could not arrest anyone yet.

The Sarail Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Sarail Police Station OC have rushed the spot to talk with the agitated protesters.
