Dear Sir,
Right now, with the fuel crisis and daily load shedding, electricity has become one of the most valuable things for our country's economy. But we waste a huge amount of it every day without even thinking. Even in daylight, lights and fans run in empty rooms. In shops, malls and offices, ACs are set to the lowest temperature while doors stay open. At night, TVs, computers and other devices sit on standby, quietly using power while we sleep.
Experts say a little awareness and responsible use can save a big part of our total electricity demand. Making one unit of electricity needs a lot of gas, coal and foreign currency. When we waste it, factories suffer, students struggle to study and hospital emergency rooms face risk.
So the power department and authorities must understand how serious this is. They should run strong media campaigns, hold meetings and seminars in schools and colleges about saving energy and take practical steps. If all of us become careful and work together, stopping electricity waste is possible. That will protect our country's growth and public welfare.
