Narcotic abuse fuels crimes

Dear Sir,
The rise of narcotics-related crimes has become a major concern for our society. Every country depends on the effective enforcement of laws to maintain public order and ensure the safety of its citizens. However, laws alone cannot curb crime unless they are implemented properly and consistently.

Drug trafficking, distribution of yaba, and other narcotics offenses are among the most dangerous crimes because they destroy lives, families, and communities. While authorities often impose fines and punishments on offenders, these measures frequently target only the lower levels of the criminal chain. The main production centers, trafficking networks, and import-export routes often remain untouched.

As long as the sources of illegal drugs continue to operate, the problem will persist despite repeated arrests and financial penalties. Therefore, law enforcement agencies should focus on identifying and dismantling the major drug syndicates, production facilities, and supply channels that fuel the narcotics trade.

A comprehensive strategy aimed at eliminating the root sources of drugs, alongside strict legal action against traffickers, is essential to protect society from the devastating effects of addiction and drug-related crimes.

I urge the concerned authorities to take decisive and sustained action against the origins of narcotics rather than relying solely on fines.
