Four people found dead in four districts

Four people, including an HSC examinee, were found dead in Cox’s Bazar, Joypurhat and Feni districts and Dashmina Upazila of Patuakhali District in three days.

COX’S BAZAR: The floating body of a tourist, who went missing while bathing at Inani beach in Cox's Bazar on Saturday noon, was recovered by beach guards, fire service, tourist police and Bangladesh Coast Guard, in Rezukhal in Ukhiya Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

Deceased Mohammad Sayem, 22, was the son of Mohammad Iqbal of Hathazari Upazila in Chattogram District.

Sayem's friend Md Arman said that they went for a bath at the beach at around 12:30 pm. Suddenly, a big wave swept Sayem into the deep sea. 

Tourist Police Inspector at Inani Gazi Ataur Rahman said that a search operation was conducted in the sea with the help of several engine boats but Sayem was not found till evening. 

Belal Uddin, in-charge of the beach workers of the Cox's Bazar District Administration, said, “Seeing the body, Sayem’s father Mohammad Iqbal identified it. The body was recovered and sent to the morgue at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.”

JOYPURHAT: The police recovered the body of a housewife named Bandana Rani Das from Durgadaha Dhulipara area of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila on Sunday morning. 

The victim's family claimed that she was beaten to death by her husband due to a family dispute. The police arrested the husband Rajkumar Das, son of Bablu Das of the village, in this incident.

According to police and local sources, on Saturday night, the husband and wife quarrelled with each other. Later on Sunday morning, the housewife's father-in-law found her hanging body. On information, the police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for an autopsy. 

Sub-Inspector of Joypurhat Police Station (PS) Anwar Hossain said that there are injury marks on the deceased’s body. After the autopsy report is available, the real mystery of the death will be known.

FENI: Police have recovered the body of a Jubo League (JL) leader with his throat slit in the Nur Ahmed Masterbari area of Ghopal Union in Chhagalnaiya Upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased Jobair Hossain Parvez, 32, was the son of Abu Taher of the area and the organising secretary of Union Jubo League.

The deceased's father said that he last saw his son at around 1 am on Saturday. 

The deceased's younger brother, Sabbir Hossain, alleged that Parvez had a dispute with Shahadat Hossain and Mamunur Rashid Mamun, sons of Sadek Mia, from the same village, over a shop. He may have been killed over that dispute, he claimed.

Meanwhile, the police have taken an employee named Michael of Jobair’s shop into their custody in this incident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chhagalnaiya PS Abu Taher said that the police recovered the body and sent it to morgue for an autopsy.

DASHMINA, PATUAKHALI: Police have recovered the hanging body of an HSC examinee from her house in Betagi Sankipur Village of Betagi Sankipur Union in Dashmina Upazila of the district on Friday night.

Deceased Sinthi Rani Sikder, 18, was the daughter of Nitya Ranjan Sikder of the village and this year’s HSC examinee from Government Abdur Rasid Talukder College.

Family and local sources said that Sinthi was alone in the house. After her parents returned, they saw the girl hanging with a veil wrapped around her neck. On information, the police recovered the body and took it to Dashmina PS.

Dashmina PS OC Atiqul Islam said that an unnatural death case was filed in this incident. The body has been sent to the Patuakhali General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
