Causes of viral fever

Dear Sir,
The rainy season increases the risk of viral fever due to high humidity, poor sanitation, overcrowding, and mosquito breeding. Viruses spread through droplets from coughing or sneezing, contaminated surfaces, and close contact. Children, older adults, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses or weakened immunity are especially vulnerable.

Common symptoms include sudden fever, chills, body aches, weakness, headache, sore throat, cough, runny nose, and loss of appetite. Some patients may also experience nausea, diarrhea, or eye discomfort. Medical attention is necessary if fever lasts more than three days or is accompanied by breathing difficulty, repeated vomiting, unusual drowsiness, bleeding, rash, or reduced urine output.

Awareness, timely medical care, healthy habits, and preventive measures are essential to reduce the spread of viral fever and protect public health.
