Bangladesh suffered a humiliating innings-and-85-run defeat to Zimbabwe after another batting collapse on the third day of the Test, with none of the visiting batters able to offer meaningful resistance.

Trailing by 270 runs after the first innings, Bangladesh resumed the day at 40 for 1, hoping to avoid an innings defeat. However, the visitors failed to withstand Zimbabwe's disciplined pace attack and were bowled out inside two sessions.

The collapse began early in the day when opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy departed in the second over of the morning. Having added just one run to his overnight score, Joy failed to negotiate a delivery while playing off the back foot and was dismissed in the 11th over of the innings.

Experienced batter Mominul Haque also failed to make an impact. Attempting to drive a delivery outside the off stump from pacer Blessing Muzarabani, he edged the ball to the slips, where Brad Evans completed a sharp catch to end his innings for 13.

Bangladesh were left reeling at 46 for 3, putting the visitors under severe pressure.

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and veteran Mushfiqur Rahim attempted to steady the innings, but neither could convert their starts into substantial contributions against Zimbabwe's disciplined bowling attack.

The middle order also failed to deliver, with batters including Towhid Hridoy and Amit Hasan unable to make meaningful scores as wickets fell at regular intervals.

With no batter able to anchor the innings or build a significant partnership, Bangladesh's batting line-up crumbled, handing Zimbabwe a dominant innings victory and completing a disappointing Test for the visitors.
