RAJARHAT, KURIGRAM, July 2: The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Alim examinations began in a peaceful and orderly atmosphere in Rajarhat Upazila on Thursday, with no incidents of expulsion reported at any of the five examination centres.
A total of 1,077 candidates were scheduled to sit for the first day's examinations, while 34 remained absent, according to centre secretaries.
The examinations were held under strict security and administrative supervision from Thursday morning. Officials said all centres maintained a disciplined environment throughout the examinations, with no untoward incidents reported.
At Rajarhat Government Mir Ismail Hossain College centre, seven of the 177 registered candidates were absent. One of the 75 candidates was absent at Rajarhat Women's Degree College centre, while two of the 273 candidates did not appear at Rajarhat Technical Business College centre.
At Rajarhat Adarsha Women's Degree College centre, eight of the 223 registered candidates were absent. Meanwhile, 16 of the 329 candidates at Rajarhat Fazil Degree Madrasa centre did not attend the examination.
Authorities completed candidate entry, seat arrangements and other formalities smoothly before the examinations began.
Centre secretaries, invigilators, members of law enforcement agencies and other officials carried out their responsibilities with vigilance to ensure a fair and orderly examination.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanzila Tasnim and other administration officials visited several examination centres and monitored the overall situation.
They expressed satisfaction over the peaceful, cheating-free environment and praised the cooperation of all officials involved in conducting the examinations.
Principal of Rajarhat Fazil Degree Madrasa Md Abdul Hai said the first day's examinations were completed smoothly and peacefully.
