United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) recently has signed an agreement with Faridpur Pourosova to facilitate the digital collection of municipal revenues, supporting the municipality's transition to a modern, technology-enabled payment system.

Under the agreement, UCB will provide the banking and digital payment infrastructure for collecting designated municipal revenues, including holding tax, trade licence fees, water bills, building plan approval fees, municipal market rents, birth and death registration fees, and other service charges, says a press release.

Once implemented, residents will be able to make municipal payments through UCB's banking network and digital channels, making the payment process faster, more secure, and more convenient. The initiative is also expected to enhance the efficiency and transparency of municipal revenue collection.

The agreement was signed by Md Iliasur Rahman, Administrator, Faridpur Pourosova, and Shahbaj Talat, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Transaction Banking, United Commercial Bank PLC, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

Md Iliasur Rahman, Administrator, Faridpur Pourosova, said, “This initiative will modernize the municipality's revenue collection system, making payments more convenient for citizens while improving efficiency and transparency in public service delivery.”
