Multiple explosions were heard in different parts of Iran since late Thursday night (July 9). However, the US military has clearly stated that it has no role in these incidents. On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the ongoing war with Iran is not over yet. These new explosions have created new tension and mystery in the region.

Al Jazeera reported that Iranian semi-official media outlets reported a series of explosions in different parts of the country. Mehr News Agency reported that multiple explosions were heard in the city of Bushehr and the surrounding Chogadak area, and in the southern city of Konarak. Bushehr is home to Iran's important nuclear power plant.

The US Central Command (Centcom) told Al Jazeera directly that it had not carried out any strikes inside Iran in the past few hours.

The United States and Iran have been exchanging airstrikes since Tuesday, including strikes on military bases in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, putting the fragile ceasefire that was reached in mid-June at further risk.

Bushehr's deputy governor for political and security affairs, Ehsan Jahanian, said the explosions heard in the city were caused by the activation of air defense systems. He said the projectile hit a military installation on the outskirts of the city.

Israel's position
After news of the explosion broke, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said he had spoken by phone with US President Donald Trump, and the two leaders agreed to continue coordination in the Gulf region.

"The war with Iran is not over yet. There are more challenges ahead," Netanyahu said at an air force graduation ceremony at Hatzerim Air Base. Israeli army chief of staff Yal Zamir also said the operation against Iran was still ongoing and preparations were underway for a major new operation.

Defense Minister Israel Katz said, "We are fully prepared to strike Iran again if necessary."
The new conflict has intensified since Iran attacked commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week. Iran wants all ships to pass through its controlled routes. Gulf states, on the other hand, have strongly condemned the attack.

President Trump has called Iranian leaders "dirty people" and said the previous agreement between the two countries is effectively over. But no one has yet officially canceled it.
