MP destroys 5 sand-lifting machines at Gobindaganj

 
GAIBANDHA, July 11: Member of Parliament from Gaibandha-4 Constituency Shameem Kaiser Lincon himself destroyed five dredgers and shallow machines used for illegal sand lifting from the Bangali River in Gobindaganj Upazila on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, the lawmaker, accompanying executive magistrates and police forces, conducted a drive in the Mohimaganj area of the river, seized five machines on charge of lifting sand from the river illegally and destroyed the machines in presence of all.

The team could not arrest the owners of the machines because sensing the presence of the law enforcers; they fled the scene.
 
Later, the destroyed machines were kept on the police station compound and separate cases were filed with the police station.
