One killed in Gopalganj road mishap

GOPALGANJ, July 11: A motorcycle rider named China Parvin, 35, was killed and her husband Chan Mia was injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a trolley in front of Ali Hasan Tulki Madrasa on the paved road leading to Joynagar Bazar via Byaspur in Kashiani Upazila of the district on Saturday.

Their home is in Rakhalgachhi Village of Boalmari Upazila in Faridpur District. The deceased's husband who works in the police department in Faridpur, was driving the motorcycle. He was on his way to Faridpur from his home in Boalmari Village with his wife when the accident happened.

Officer-in-Charge of Kashiani Police Station Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that with the help of locals, the injured policeman was admitted to the Kashiani Upazila Health Complex. After providing primary treatment, the doctor on duty referred him to Faridpur Medical College for advanced treatment.

The police officer also said that the body of the deceased will be handed over to her relatives after the completion of legal procedures.
