Gold prices fall in local market

Gold prices have been reduced in the local market, with the price of the highest-quality, 22-carat gold jewellery cut by Tk 2,216 per bhori.

Following the adjustment, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery, including VAT, has been set at Tk 221,966.

The new prices took effect at 10AM on Monday (July 13), according to the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS).

The decision was made at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring. 

The information was announced in a notice signed by the committee's chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.
