An intercity Ekota Express train resumed its journey to Panchagarh after leaving behind two derailed coaches at Ishwardi Bypass Station in Pabna on Monday.
According to railway officials, the rear two coaches derailed near the station around 3:50 pm. A relief train later arrived and began recovery operations, allowing the rest of the train to depart for Panchagarh at around 5:30 pm.
Rail services on the broad-gauge route are continuing through an alternative track. Meanwhile, Western Railway authorities have formed a five-member investigation committee to determine the cause of the incident.
