BRTA gives Tk 1.09cr to road victims’ families in Feni

FENI, July 13: The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has distributed Tk 1 crore 9 lakh  in financial assistance to the families of people killed or injured in road accidents across the Feni district.

The cheques, approved by the BRTA Trustee Board, were handed over at a ceremony organised by the BRTA Feni Circle at the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office on Sunday.

According to officials, the families of 21 people who were killed in road accidents at different times across the district received a total of Tk 1.9 crore, while two families of injured transport drivers and workers received Tk 400,000.

In total, 23 families were provided with financial assistance amounting to Tk 1.9 crore. 

Feni Deputy Commissioner Monira Haque attended the event as the chief guest.

Among the special guests were Superintendent of Police Prottyush Kumar Majumder, Additional District Magistrate Fatema Sultana, and BRTA Feni Circle Assistant Director (Engineering) Md Al Faisal.

Also present were Feni District Road Transport Owners' Group President Alhaj Md Golam Nabi, Feni District Bus Owners' Association General Secretary Zafar Uddin, and leaders of local transport owners' and workers' organisations.
