
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 401 people involved in various crimes in the capital in a 24-hour operation. It is also reported that 50 cases have been filed during the same period.
Niaz Mehdi, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department, gave this information on Friday (July 17).
Niaz Mehedi said that the DMP police have arrested 401 people involved in various crimes during raids in various crime-prone areas of the capital. At the same time, 50 cases have been filed.
Among those arrested, 44 were arrested by Ramna Division, 26 by Lalbagh Division, 42 by Wari Division, 41 by Motijheel Division, 31 by Tejgaon Division, 119 by Mirpur Division, 47 by Gulshan Division, 38 by Uttara Division and 13 by the Intelligence Division.
During this time, 25,109 pieces of Yaba, 20 kg 950 grams of marijuana, a battery-operated auto-rickshaw, 15 bamboo torches, 83 mobile phones, a banner with Awami League slogans, five playing cards, a microbus, 6,600 SIM cards, 1 laptop, 1 microbus and 1 victim were recovered from their custody.
He also said that legal action against the arrested persons is in the process.
