BRAC University has appointed three distinguished new members into their Board of Trustees which will strengthen the board’s expertise in higher education, finance governance, and institutional stewardship.
The new trustees are Dr Claire Gordon, Director of the Eden Centre for Education Enhancement at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); Masud Khan FCA (India), FCMA (India) and CMA (Australia), Chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and former Chairman of Unilever Consumer Care Ltd; and Professor Imran Rahman, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).
Their appointments were approved in accordance with BRAC University’s governance framework as part of its ongoing institutional development.
‘At this important moment in BRAC University’s journey, we are pleased to welcome three highly accomplished individuals to the Board of Trustees,’ said Tamara Hasan Abed, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees.
She added that their extensive experience in global higher education, university leadership, financial governance, and institutional growth will bring valuable perspectives as the university continues to strengthen teaching, research, and the overall student experience.
Dr Claire Gordon brings extensive experience in educational development, curriculum enhancement, digital innovation, and inclusive practice. Her work at LSE includes leading teaching innovation, managing institutional approaches to generative AI in education, and fostering international academic collaborations.
Masud Khan brings decades of experience in financial management, corporate governance, capital markets, and audit oversight across multinational and national bodies. His expertise will bolster the board’s fiduciary oversight and long-term financial sustainability.
Professor Imran Rahman brings deep experience in academic leadership, business education, and institutional development. A veteran academic leader and former VC of ULAB, his insights will support the university's focus on academic quality and student-centered education.
The university stated that the addition of the new trustees will further guide its strategic priorities, social impact goals, and long-term institutional growth.
