Mamata ready to join CJP protest at Jantar Mantar

Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banarjee confirmed that she would personally take part in the ‘Jantar Mantar’ protest in Delhi if needed. The Indian Express reported.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) organized protest in the national capital.
Mamata made such remarks while addressing July 21 Martyrs’ Day event on Tuesday. The annual rally commemorates 13 Youth Congress workers killed in police firing in Kolkata in 1993.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) organized the event near Birla Planetarium due to a Calcutta High Court order. Prohibitory orders by Kolkata police prevented them from holding the rally at Esplanade.
Reiterating her support for the CJP movement, Banarjee said TMC support was there from the beginning and would continue. BJP leaders would flee if everyone took the streets.
Commenting on political tensions in Delhi, she said running a government requires discipline and democratic norms. She claimed situations in Delhi escalated during political confrontations.
She stated that circumstances in Parliament became so tense that even the Prime Minister had to alter his plans. She warned that her movement will stay on the streets if injustice and intimidation continue.
Banerjee accused the ruling party of using fear and threats as political tools. She said leaders and workers face continuous harassment across different parts of the state.
Taking aim at TMC defectors, Banerjee said every mask will come off in time. She claimed many leaders left the party out of fear of central agencies like the ED, CBI, and CID.
She alleged that around 40,000 cases have been registered against TMC leaders and workers. She described the scale of these cases as unprecedented.
