The National Citizen Party (NCP) has postponed two marches scheduled for Thursday in Khulna and Satkhira, citing unavoidable circumstances, while confirming that the remainder of its southern region campaign will proceed as planned.
The announcement came in a press release issued by the party on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the marches scheduled for July 23 in Chalna Municipality of Khulna and Satkhira Sadar have been deferred until further notice. The party said revised dates would be announced later following internal coordination.
The NCP, however, said all other programmes under its southern region march-campaign would be held according to the existing schedule.
As part of the itinerary, marches are scheduled to take place in Chitalmari Upazila of Bagerhat at 3:00pm and Fakirhat Upazila at 6:00pm on July 21.
On July 22, the party will hold marches in Bagerhat Sadar at 3:00pm and Mongla at 6:00pm, the release said.
The campaign will continue on July 24 with marches in Noapara Municipality of Jessore at 3:00pm and Bagharpara Upazila Sadar at 6:00pm, as previously announced.
The party also said its ongoing northern region march programme would continue without any change.
