MetLife Bangladesh settled insurance claims worth BDT 13.84 billion during the first six months (January - June) of 2026, reaffirming its commitment to providing timely financial support to customers and their families.
The total amount includes payments made for insurance benefits as well as medical and death claims.
Commenting on the achievement, MetLife Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Ala Ahmad said the volume of claims settled in the first half of the year reflects the company's strong commitment to standing by customers and their families when they need support the most.
"We are committed to making the claims settlement process faster, simpler, and more transparent. By doing so, we aim to further strengthen customer confidence and contribute to increasing public trust in Bangladesh's insurance sector," he said.
MetLife has maintained a consistent record of settling insurance claims on time. In 2025, the company paid out BDT 28.95 billion in insurance claims the highest among all life insurance companies in Bangladesh. During the same year, it achieved a 98 percent claims settlement ratio, one of the highest in the country's life insurance industry.
The company said its streamlined digital claims settlement system allows customers to submit claims online, with payments typically processed within three to five working days. The efficient and hassle-free process has helped improve customer satisfaction while reinforcing confidence in the insurance sector.
MetLife Bangladesh currently provides insurance services to nearly one million individual customers and more than 900 corporate clients across the country.
