Joypurhat Press Club gets new body

JOYPURHAT, July 26: The Joypurhat Press Club held the biennial election at the Club Bhaban on Saturday. After the voting, Chief Election Commissioner and Journalist Nazrul Islam declared the results. 

As per the result, Journalist Abu Bakar Siddique of Bangla Vision was elected president with 29 votes and DBC News Representative Shamim Kadir was elected general secretary (GS) with 34 votes.
 
Those elected to other positions are: Vice-President Sohel Ahmed Leo, Joint GS Abu Musa, Treasurer Ismail Hossain, Library Secretary Zahidul Islam, Office Secretary Milon Rahman, Publicity and Publication Secretary Moannaf Hossain Shimul, Sports and Cultural Secretary Shital Chandra and Ataur Rahman, Ruhul Amin and Pulak Sarkar were elected as executive members. 

All 48 voters of the Club exercised their right to vote in the biennial elections. The members of the Election Commission were Nazrul Islam, Adv Arafat Hossain Moon and Sujan Kumar Mandal.
