1.75 lakh tonnes of US wheat reaches Ctg port

About 1.75 lakh metric tonnes of wheat bought from the United States have reached Chattogram.

The US Embassy in Dhaka disclosed the development in a message on Wednesday (October 21).

The embassy said Bangladesh recently bought a total of 2.2 lakh metric tonnes of nutrient-rich wheat. Of that, about 1.75 lakh metric tonnes have already arrived at Chattogram port.

It said the US wheat is helping ensure Bangladesh’s food security. It is also strengthening the US-Bangladesh commercial partnership.
