Brazilian star Endrick named UNICEF goodwill ambassador

Brazil and Real Madrid forward Endrick has been appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Brazil, becoming the first athlete in the country's history to take on the role. The 20-year-old will use his influence to promote children's rights, education, health, safety and equal opportunities across the country.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced Endrick's appointment on Wednesday, saying the young footballer will help raise awareness about issues affecting children and adolescents in Brazil through his growing popularity and social influence.

As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Endrick joins a distinguished group of Brazilian public figures, including actress and television presenter Maisa, legendary comedian Renato Aragão, singer Daniela Mercury, actors Lázaro Ramos and Bruno Gagliasso, as well as the iconic comic character Mônica.

UNICEF has been appointing artists, athletes and influential public figures as Goodwill Ambassadors around the world since 1954 to support its mission of promoting children's rights, access to education, healthcare and a safer future.

Expressing his feelings about the appointment, Endrick said receiving UNICEF's invitation was "not only an honor but also a great responsibility."

"I know millions of children dream of a better future every day. I once had those same dreams. I want to use my voice to encourage them to believe in themselves, fight for their goals and never give up. No child should be left behind. I am truly happy to be part of this mission," he said.

UNICEF said Goodwill Ambassadors are selected not only for their popularity but also for their credibility, sense of social responsibility and genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and young people.

Despite his demanding football career, Endrick has shown a strong interest in supporting social causes. UNICEF believes his involvement will inspire Brazil's younger generation and help amplify the message of protecting children's rights across the country.

At just 20 years old, Endrick has already established himself as one of Brazil's brightest football talents. With his new role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, he now begins another chapter, working to help build a safer, more inclusive and hopeful future for every child in Brazil.
