Afghanistan has started exporting black stone to the United States of America. Afghani media Pajhwok Afghan News confirmed the news.
A private company extracted the mineral from the Zindajan mine in western Herat province to the United States. Estimated value of the first shipment is $100,000.
In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, the Herat governor’s media office said the shipment was Afghanistan’s first mineral export consignment.
The statement said the consignment contained black stone extracted from the Zindajan mine and was exported to the US market through the Herat Chamber of Industries.
Provincial media office further added that this move marked an important step towards expanding Afghanistan’s mineral exports and it is going to strengthen the country’s presence in the international markets.
It added that Herat, one of Afghanistan’s key economic provinces, has a significant role in boosting exports due to its rich mineral resources, strategic trade location and industrial potential.
