86 DAGs, 179 AAGs appointed

Government has appointed 86 Supreme Court lawyers as deputy attorneys general (DAGs) and 179 others as assistant attorneys general (AAGs) to represent the state in cases before Appellate Division and High Court Division.

These appointments have been made following the cancellation of all previous appointments of DAGs and AAGs, according to separate notifications issued by the Solicitor Wing of the Ministry of Law on Thursday.

President made the appointments under Article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (President's Order No. 6 of 1972).
The appointments will remain in force until further orders, the notifications added.
