Three day Hajj and Umrah fair concludes in Dhaka

The three-day Hajj and Umrah Fair, organized by the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB), concluded on Saturday with a closing ceremony at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka.

Speaking as the chief guest, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroz Khanam highlighted the importance of ensuring quality services and greater transparency in Hajj and Umrah management. She emphasized that coordinated efforts among government agencies, airlines, and licensed Hajj operators are essential to providing pilgrims with safe, efficient, and hassle-free travel experiences.

The closing ceremony was presided over by HAAB President Syed Golam Sarwar and moderated by HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumder.

The fair brought together Hajj agencies, airlines, travel service providers, and other stakeholders, offering visitors information on Hajj and Umrah packages, travel arrangements, accommodation, visa processing, and related services. Organizers said the event received a positive response from prospective pilgrims and industry participants, while also serving as a platform to strengthen collaboration across the country's Hajj and Umrah sector.

Among others, Member of Parliament for Mymensingh-2 Mufti Muhammadullah, Religious Affairs Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Fahmida Akhter, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr. Manjurul Haque, Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Kaizar Mohammad Sohel, former HAB President Ibrahim Bahar, former Acting HAB President Yakub Sharafati, former BAIRA President Kazi Mofizur Rahman, and TOAB President Hanif.
