Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that Tehran will respond forcefully to any US or Israeli attack on the country’s energy infrastructure.
During a phone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Araghchi said any military aggression against Iran would trigger a “certain and strong” response. He also warned that any Middle Eastern country involved in such an attack could become a target.
The remarks came amid reports that US President Donald Trump discussed possible strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure with senior officials as part of efforts to increase pressure on Tehran.
Iran has repeatedly said it would retaliate against attacks on its energy facilities by targeting similar infrastructure across the region.
