Traffic police personnel rewarded in Khulna

The award distribution ceremony was held in the conference room of KMP headquarters at 11am.

Addressing the programme, the police commissioner said traffic personnel perform their duties under difficult weather conditions and urged them to remain conscious of their own health and safety while discharging responsibilities.

He stressed the need for polite and humane behaviour with members of the public while remaining firm in enforcing the law.

“Even when people become angry, police members must remain patient,” he said, adding that police officers should remember that they were once ordinary citizens and would return to civilian life in the future.
The commissioner said good behaviour is one of the key ways to improve the image of police.

Although it is not always possible to solve every problem of citizens, police can listen to their concerns, speak sincerely and provide necessary assistance within their capacity, he added.

He said recognition and rewards for good performance would continue in the future to encourage police personnel to perform their duties with greater dedication and motivation.

For their outstanding performance during the past month, financial rewards were given to one police inspector (city and traffic), five sergeants/TSIs, five assistant traffic sub-inspectors (ATSIs) and 20 constables.

KMP Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam and police personnel of different ranks were present at the programme.
