Jisan's 19-ball fifty lifts Bangladesh HP to 7-wicket win over Malaysia

Published : Tuesday, 11 August, 2026 at 12:00 AM
Opener Jisan Alam smashed a blistering 19-ball fifty as Bangladesh High Performance (HP) team thrashed Malaysia by seven wickets in the second T20 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mipur, completing a 2-0 series sweep.

Malaysia won the toss and opted to bat first but struggled to build momentum as they managed to put up just 105-4 in their allotted 20 overs.

After losing both openers early, Syed Aziz and Ahmed Akil steadied the innings with a 58-run partnership for the third wicket. Aziz top-scored with 40 off 52 balls, while Akil made 30 off 33 before both were dismissed by Abu Haider.

Bangladesh's bowlers kept Malaysia under control throughout the innings, although they could not dismiss the visitors completely.

The target, however, proved insignificant for Bangladesh HP as opener Jisan tore apart the Malaysian attack, reaching his half-century in just 19 balls. He remained unbeaten on 57 off 21 deliveries, hitting two fours and seven sixes.

Jawad Abrar added a rapid 23 off eight balls as Bangladesh raced to 106-3 in just 7.4 overs for an effortless victory.    "BSS
