Bangladesh Bank (BB) has dissolved the boards of directors of four of the five financial institutions currently undergoing a closure process.
At the same time, the positions of managing directors (MDs) of the institutions have been declared vacant.
Following the move, the central bank appointed administrators to the four financial institutions on Sunday. Two additional Bangladesh Bank officials have also been assigned to each institution to assist the administrators.
According to sources, Bangladesh Bank Director Alauddin Hossain has been appointed administrator of Aviva Finance, Director Sadekur Rahman of Far East Finance, Director Ataur Rahman of FAS Finance, and Director Mohammad Iqbal Hossain of International Leasing.
The sources added administrators have initially been appointed to the four financial institutions other than People’s Leasing.
