800kg polythene seized in Noakhali

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 800kg of banned polythene, estimated to be Tk 3.2 million, in Noakhali's Hatiya.

The banned polythene were seized from an isolated place close to the Banglabazar Ferry Ghat on Monday afternoon (August 10) as per information.

Since the owner of the polythene could not be traced, nobody was arrested. The seized polythene were then handed over to the District Department of Environment for further proceedings.

Lt Md Salman Bin Shawkat, media officer, Coast Guard South Zone, confirmed the matter.
