A prominent American doctor has raised questions over White House disclosures regarding 80-year-old US President Donald Trump’s health, pointing out unexplained symptoms and incomplete medical records.

US President Donald Trump is now 80 years old. He is the oldest president to serve in American history. His physician declared him to be in "excellent health".

However, the accuracy of this statement has been questioned repeatedly. Now, a US doctor has raised fresh concerns over Trump's White House medical reports.

Dr. Jonathan Reiner, professor of medicine and surgery at George Washington University, treated former US Vice President Dick Cheney for 27 years. According to the cardiologist, some of Trump's visible symptoms and medical tests raise unanswered questions.

Trump's physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, stated after a May health checkup that Trump remains in "excellent health". He added that Trump's busy schedule and physical activity support his overall well-being.

However, Dr. Reiner noted that several visible symptoms raise questions not fully addressed in the medical reports.

One concern involves bruising on Trump's hands. The White House attributed the bruises to frequent handshakes and aspirin use. However, Dr. Reiner questioned whether the pattern of discoloration, especially on the President's left hand, is fully explained by those factors.

Dr. Reiner also highlighted swelling in Trump's legs. A White House physician described it as chronic venous insufficiency. In this condition, veins struggle to send blood back to the heart. However, Dr. Reiner pointed out an inconsistency.

Reports indicate the May medical examination made no mention of leg swelling. Questions remain over how the condition was subsequently classified without prior documentation.

Dr. Reiner also noted instances where Trump appeared to struggle to stay awake during public events. He described this as excessive daytime sleepiness, noting it could stem from underlying medical conditions requiring treatment.

Further questions arose regarding advanced heart and abdominal imaging tests Trump underwent at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in October 2025. The President's physician stated the tests were routine preventative screenings. However, Dr. Reiner questioned why the need for such extensive imaging was not fully explained to the public.

The cardiologist is not demanding full disclosure of all medical records, acknowledging potential security risks.

Instead, he proposed creating an independent Congressional panel under the 25th Amendment to evaluate a president's physical fitness and ability to serve.

Dr. Reiner stated that the core issue is not whether citizens have a right to every medical detail, but whether voters can be confident that the person holding immense power is physically and medically fit for office.
