Heavy to very heavy rain likely in four divisions

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely in parts of four divisions over the next 48 hours due to a depression over the Bay of Bengal, with the Bangladesh Meteorological Department warning of landslides in hilly areas.

According to a heavy rainfall warning issued by the weather office on Monday, parts of Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may receive 44�"88mm of heavy rain and more than 88mm of very heavy rain from 8am today to the following 48 hours.

The rain may cause temporary waterlogging in some areas, while landslides are possible in the hilly areas of Chattogram division due to excessive rainfall.

The weather office classifies rainfall of 44�"88mm in 24 hours as heavy and more than 88mm as very heavy.
