Mobile operator Airtel has been rebranded as ‘Cirkle’, with Robi Axiata PLC officially launching the new identity in Dhaka on Monday.
Robi said the rebranding comes after 16 years of Airtel’s presence in Bangladesh. However, the change will not affect existing customers or services.
All Airtel customers will automatically become Cirkle customers. Their existing 016 numbers, SIM cards, packages and balances will remain unchanged. Mobile financial services (MFS) accounts, wallets, transactions and customer information will also remain active and secure.
Robi said customer services will continue without interruption, and Airtel users will not need to complete any additional procedures because of the rebranding.
According to Robi, Cirkle will retain Airtel’s youth-focused identity while placing greater emphasis on digital services and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
The new brand will focus on entertainment, gaming, content creation and reliable connectivity, aiming to provide young customers with more affordable and digitally driven services.
The brand’s promise is “Real Connection, Always Active.”
Robi Managing Director and CEO Ziad Satara said Airtel had grown alongside Bangladesh’s youth for 16 years and that Cirkle was the next step in that journey.
He said the brand name may have changed, but its core commitment to meaningful connections remains unchanged.
Robi said Cirkle will continue investing in innovation and digital capabilities to meet the changing needs of Bangladesh’s increasingly connected younger generation.
