Quran education course concludes for Bangladeshi children in France

A summer Quran education course for Bangladeshi children and teenagers living in France concluded with a ceremony and prize distribution on Sunday.

The programme was organised by a branch of Darul Qirat Majidia Fultali Trust at the France-Bangla Community and Islamic Cultural Centre in Aubervilliers. The event was held from 11am to 2pm and was attended by more than 100 students, parents, teachers and members of the Bangladeshi community.

The programme began with Quran recitation. Sheikh Asad Ahmad presided over the event, which was conducted by Hafiz Maulana Zillur Rahman, director of the cultural centre.

Allama Nazrul Islam, khatib of Brick Lane Jamé Masjid in London and president of Anjuman Al-Islah UK, attended as the chief guest.

In his speech, Nazrul Islam praised the initiative to provide Quranic and moral education to younger generations living abroad. He said such programmes could help children develop strong moral values and encouraged organisers to expand similar activities.

Other community leaders, teachers and journalists also attended the event.

Students Arafat Rahman and Mahdi Rahman spoke on behalf of the participants and thanked the organisers and teachers for providing them with an opportunity to learn Quranic teachings and Islamic values during the summer programme.

Later, prizes and certificates were distributed among students who achieved distinction in various areas of the course.

The programme concluded with a special prayer seeking the forgiveness and peace of the soul of Allama Fultali Saheb Qiblah, founder of Darul Qirat Majidia Fultali Trust. Prayers were also offered for peace, guidance and prosperity for Muslims around the world.

The event ended with the distribution of shirni among guests, teachers, students and parents.
