The government has promoted 277 Senior Assistant Secretaries (SAS) to the post of Deputy Secretary (DS) at a time as part of its latest major reshuffle and promotion exercise in the civil administration.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Monday announcing the promotions. Among those promoted are 15 senior assistant secretary-ranked officials currently serving at Bangladesh’s embassies and missions abroad.
The newly promoted officials have been made Officers on Special Duty (OSD). However, separate orders regarding their postings to new positions have not yet been issued.
This is the second major round of promotions in the administration since the BNP-led government assumed office.
