BRAC Bank and Software Shop Limited (SSL Wireless) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand access to formal banking and financing for micro and small entrepreneurs.

The partnership will focus on entrepreneurs operating in Bangladesh’s growing e-commerce and f-commerce sectors.

The MoU was signed at BRAC Bank’s Head Office in Dhaka on August 30, 2026.

The agreement combines BRAC Bank’s expertise in SME and inclusive finance with SSL Wireless’ digital commerce ecosystem.

Under the partnership, merchants, partners and sellers in SSL Wireless’ ecosystem will have opportunities to access BRAC Bank’s banking and financing services. Access will depend on the bank’s assessment and eligibility requirements.

SSL Wireless will support the financing assessment process.

BRAC Bank’s SME customers will also be able to connect with SSL Wireless’ platform. They will have opportunities to benefit from the digital commerce ecosystem.

Supporting underserved entrepreneurs remains a key focus of BRAC Bank’s SME banking operations.

Since its establishment, the bank has worked to bring entrepreneurs into the formal financial system through accessible SME banking services.

The partnership with SSL Wireless will further support the initiative by taking financial services closer to entrepreneurs through the digital platforms they already use.

Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, said digital commerce is creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs across Bangladesh.

“Through our partnership with SSL Wireless, we aim to bring banking closer to entrepreneurs where they are already doing business and create a more inclusive pathway from digital commerce to formal finance and sustainable growth,” he said.

Mohiuddin Tawfik, General Manager and Head of Banking and Financial Services Institution at SSL Wireless, said the partnership would help connect offline, e-commerce and f-commerce merchants with formal financing.

“This will create practical opportunities for small business growth and greater financial inclusion,” he said.

The partnership will initially focus on opportunities within SSL Wireless’ digital merchant ecosystem.

The two organisations will also explore broader areas of cooperation as the partnership develops.
