Bangladesh received $1.427 billion in remittances during the first 13 days of September, according to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank.
At an exchange rate of Tk 123 per dollar, the amount is equivalent to more than Tk 17,552 crore.
The central bank released the updated figures on Monday (September 14).
According to the report, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $193 million on September 13 alone. During the same period last year, the country received $1.306 billion in remittances.
Overall, Bangladesh received $7.253 billion in remittances from July to September 13 of the current fiscal year. The figure was $6.206 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
This means remittance inflow has increased by 16.9 percent year-on-year during the period.
