There is no legal impediment to holding the presidential election as scheduled on Thursday, said Attorney General Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal on Wednesday.
While responding to reporters at the Attorney General’s Office, Ruhul Quddus said, ''The presidential election will be held smoothly tomorrow. There is no legal obstacle to holding the election.''
Earlier on August 18, the High Court summarily rejected a writ petition challenging the validity of Article 70 of the Constitution and seeking suspension of the schedule for the presidential election.
