The Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB) held a courtesy meeting with the director of Russian House in Dhaka to strengthen cooperation and professional communication between Bangladesh and Russia in technology journalism and the media sector.
A delegation comprising members of the TMGB executive committee, led by its President Mohammad Kaowsar Uddin, met Alexandra A. Khlevnoi, director of Russian House. TMGB Vice Presidents Kumar Biswajit Roy and Moidul Islam, General Secretary Mursalin Haque Junaid, Treasurer Mahadi Hasan Shimul, Organising Secretary Golam Dastagir Touhid, Publicity and Publication Secretary Naznin Akter Lucky, and Executive Members Nazmul Hossain and Rahim Sheikh were present at the meeting.
The discussions focused on ways to enhance cooperation in science and technology journalism and strengthen ties between media professionals in Bangladesh and Russia. Both sides expressed interest in organising joint media workshops, masterclasses, professional training programmes and initiatives to improve the skills of science and technology journalists.
Russian House expressed its willingness to provide necessary support for such initiatives. The meeting also discussed the possibility of establishing long-term professional ties between media organisations in Bangladesh and Russia.
During the meeting, Khlevnoi briefed the delegation on various activities of Russian House, including opportunities for higher education through Russian government scholarships, Russian language courses, and opportunities for Bangladeshi children, young people and professionals to participate in international events and short-term programmes.
TMGB representatives welcomed the initiatives of Russian House and expressed hope that professional relations between the technology journalism and media sectors of Bangladesh and Russia would be further strengthened in the future.
