
JOYPURHAT, Aug 19: A day-long photography workshop, exhibition and competition were held in the district on Wednesday to mark World Photography Day under the theme, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
The Joypurhat Photographer Society organised the event at the Joypurhat Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium, with support from the Bangladesh Photographic Society.
Secondary and higher secondary students from educational institutions across the district participated in the event. A jury selected the top 50 photographs submitted for the competition and displayed them in the exhibition gallery.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Al-Mamun Mia attended the event as chief guest. Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmudul Hasan and Joypurhat Press Club General Secretary Shamim Kadir were special guests. Joypurhat Photographer Society President Mejbaul Islam presided.
The DC visited the exhibition and praised the photographs taken by the young participants. Joypurhat Photographer Society Member Secretary Debashish, members Biplob, Rafi, Badhan Mandal, Zulfikar and Bayezid, along with other members, local journalists and young photographers, attended the event.
