Bangladesh faces injury concerns ahead of the second Test against Australia after opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim missed Thursday’s batting practice due to neck pain.
Tanzid participated in warm-ups and fielding drills in Mackay but sat out the batting session as a precaution, placing his availability for the August 22 match in doubt.
The left-hander scored a key century during Bangladesh's historic nine-wicket win in the first Test in Darwin. Soumya Sarkar spent extended time in the nets on Thursday as a potential replacement should Tanzid fail to recover.
Meanwhile, veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim resumed practice after receiving treatment for a minor finger injury, and pacer Shoriful Islam proved his fitness in the nets after missing the opener. Head coach Phil Simmons stated that a final decision on the playing XI will be made on Friday.
