NEW DELHI, Aug 20: India has removed the external security barricades outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, three days after Pakistan removed similar barriers outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, as tensions rise over Kashmir.
The move comes amid renewed India-Pakistan tensions and follows US envoy Sergio Gor’s statement describing Jammu and Kashmir as an “important part of India”.
India removed the external security perimeter outside the Pakistan High Commission.
Pakistan had removed protective barricades outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad three days earlier.
The moves come amid continuing diplomatic tensions between the two countries. India had launched Operation Sindoor following the Pahalgam terror attack, according to the report. �"Z NEWS
