Five people died of dengue fever across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 839 new patients were admitted to hospitals, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday (August 23).
According to the DGHS, four of the deaths were reported in Dhaka Division, including Dhaka city, while one was reported in Mymensingh Division during the period.
Since January this year, a total of 82 people has died of dengue in the country, while 28,929 cases have been reported so far.
Currently, 1,951 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals across the country.
