Leaders and members of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) have expressed their deep concerns and strong opposition over the report that only 25 recruiting agencies have been selected to send Bangladeshi workers to Malaysia.
A delegation led by former MP and BAIRA Vice-President Mojibur Rahman Manju, former BAIRA vice-president Reaz Ul Islam, former joint secretary general Md. Fakhrul Islam and members including Kamal Uddin Dilu has submitted a memorandum (memo) to State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque at his Probashi Kalyan Bhaban office.
During the meeting, the delegation leaders urged the government to immediately halt any move to create what they described as a syndicate or monopoly centred around a limited number of agencies.
