Mahmuda Habiba visits Asian Para Games training camp 

With one arm missing, both hands absent, or confined to wheelchairs, Bangladesh's Para athletes are refusing to let physical limitations put the brakes on their sporting dreams.

MP Mahmuda Habiba on Tuesday visited the ongoing training camp at Dhaka National Stadium as the athletes stepped up preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games in Japan, scheduled for October 18-24.
Braving the scorching sun, five Para athletes trained for nearly one and a half hours under the supervision of the National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh (NPC).

NPC vice-president Sanowar Hossain, secretary Dr Maruf Ahmed Mridul, Hedayatul Aziz, treasurer Asiful Hasan Masud and executive member Anwar Kabir Chowdhury were present. Mahmuda distributed high-quality spiked athletics shoes and exchanged views with the athletes, praising their dedication and urging them to aim higher on the international stage.

Bangladesh will compete in six disciplines, Para athletics, Para archery, Para badminton, boccia, Para swimming and Para table tennis. The athletes are currently training at venues including Tongi, Dhaka National Stadium, Savar CRP and the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex.
