Red alert issued in Makkah following heavy rainfall

The Saudi meteorological department issued a "Red Alert" following forecasts of heavy rainfall across various parts of Makkah province.
Anadolu Agency reported the update on Wednesday (August 26).
Saudi Civil Defense warned of extreme weather conditions in the region through an official statement.
The agency urged residents to exercise extreme caution, stay away from waterlogged areas, valleys, and dams, and strictly follow official safety guidelines.
A Red Alert represents the highest level of warning from the national weather center, issued during severe weather conditions requiring maximum vigilance.
Makkah province has experienced unstable weather and varying degrees of rainfall over the past few days.
Earlier on August 21, authorities issued advance warnings for heavy rain, gale-force winds, hail, thunder, and flash flood risks in Al-Ardiyat and Al-Qunfudhah provinces.
