Three more people died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while no deaths from confirmed measles were reported, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Saturday.
The deaths were recorded between 8 AM on Friday and 8 AM on Saturday.
According to the DGHS, the death toll from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms this year has risen to 963. Of them, 99 died from confirmed measles and 864 died with measles symptoms.
Two of the latest deaths were reported in Dhaka division and one in Khulna division.
During the same period, 57 new confirmed measles cases were reported, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 18,853.
Another 886 people developed measles symptoms, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 155,678.
Since March 15, a total of 136,257 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, the DGHS said. Of them, 131,264 have recovered and returned home.
