Five more children died from measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll to 960 since March 15.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the update in a press release issued on Friday.
According to the DGHS, 1,170 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same 24-hour period. Among them, 1,100 patients exhibited measles symptoms, while 70 individuals tested positive for the disease.
The cumulative number of confirmed measles cases reached 18,796 nationwide since March 15. Symptoms have been identified in 1,54,792 individuals during this period.
A total of 1,35,470 patients with measles-like symptoms have been admitted to hospitals so far, with 1,30,475 recovering and receiving discharge.
